Nobles County Jail Overview

Nobles County Jail is the county jail inside the Prairie Justice Center in Worthington. It is operated by the Nobles County Sheriff's Office and serves as a secure coed local adult detention facility. The Facility Map describes the held population as adult pretrial detainees, unsentenced defendants, sentenced local inmates, warrant arrests, and holds for other agencies. Sheriff Ryan Kruger is the current sheriff listed by the county, and jail leadership includes Jail Administrator Dan Bosman, Assistant Jail Administrator Aaron Ahlers, and Jail Program Coordinator Ryan Como.

The jail is the correct first search point for people arrested locally and still held in Nobles County custody. It is not the search point for sentenced state-prison custody, federal prison custody, or immigration detention outside the county jail. Once a person is committed to the Minnesota Department of Corrections, the statewide DOC locator takes over. Federal and ICE custody require separate federal tools.

Nobles County Jail Capacity

The 2019 Minnesota DOC facility inspection report approved 88 secure coed beds at Nobles County Jail and calculated 79.20 operational capacity at 90 percent. The same inspection said the jail had averaged daily population well over 60 for the prior two years. On June 18, 2026 at 10:05 AM, the official embedded roster contained 44 current inmate entries. That 44-person count is a roster snapshot, not a yearly average.

Nobles County Jail Address and Contact

The public-facing jail and mail address uses Suite 200. The DOC inspection used Suite 100 in its facility address, but the jail page's mail instructions use Suite 200. For inmate mail and visitor directions, use the jail-page address unless county staff direct otherwise.

Visiting Nobles County Jail

Visitors must register through Reliance and schedule before the visit. Nobles County states visits must be scheduled at least four hours before the desired visitation period. Visits are 20 minutes. Visitors may visit up to two times per day and four times per week. Photo identification is required. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, and the child may visit a parent or legal guardian. Siblings under 18 are not allowed to visit.

Mail, Phone, and Money at Nobles Jail

Inmate mail must come through the U.S. Postal Service and should be addressed to the inmate name, Nobles County Jail, 1530 Airport Ste 200, Worthington MN 56187. Non-privileged incoming mail is copied, copies are delivered to the inmate, and originals are destroyed. Photos are not allowed, books and magazines are not allowed, and religious material is inspected by jail staff. Visitors may not leave stamps, envelopes, or mail.

Online deposit access is useful only after confirming the person is still held at Nobles County Jail, since staff do not share account information with anyone other than the inmate.

Booking at Nobles County Jail

A local arrest usually moves into jail intake, identity confirmation, property collection, booking photo, fingerprinting where required, screening, charge or hold entry, and housing classification. Nobles County does not publish a complete booking workflow, so the public-facing record is the roster. It shows the booking date, photo, agency, charge type, and description after the roster updates. It does not show the exact booking time, bond, court date, housing unit, date of birth, or release date.

First court movement after arrest runs through Nobles County District Court for cases filed in the county. The court and county attorney are also in the Prairie Justice Center area, but use different suite and PO Box references. Jail custody, court case status, and prosecution are related but separate records.

Nobles Jail PREA and Conditions

The jail page publishes PREA reporting and prevention information. It states the jail has zero tolerance for sexual abuse and sexual harassment, will take protective measures, and will promptly and thoroughly investigate allegations. Worthington Police Department investigates criminal allegations. The jail publishes a PREA incident tracking log for 2017 through 2023 with personal identifying information redacted.

The 2019 DOC inspection found substantial compliance overall, while requiring corrective action on several mandatory and essential rules. It referenced well-being checks, special-needs observation, medication storage, medication accounting, and building conditions such as moisture, mold, rust, paint, graffiti, and security electronics. It also noted zero JJDPA violations and proper juvenile sight-and-sound separation.

Directions to Nobles County Jail

Nobles County Jail is at the Prairie Justice Center on Airport Road, north of Worthington's downtown Government Center. The split matters. Jail, court, and county attorney business are tied to Airport Road, while the county administration address for data-practices mail is downtown. From I-90, drivers generally use Worthington exits and connect north toward Airport Road. From MN-60 or local streets, route toward the airport and Prairie Justice Center area.
